Boston Chamber Symphony

The Boston Chamber Symphony is on a mission to connect with audiences by performing great works, empowering musicians, and collaborating with local businesses. In tribute to William Grant Still, the “Dean of African-American Composers”, and in celebration of Black History Month, we helped them create a unique virtual performance of Still’s “Can’t You Line ‘Em”, a symphonic work inspired by the songs of the Gandy Dancers, early railroad workers in the U.S. who sang while laying track. With the intention of using this performance for educational purposes and sharing it with schools across the nation, we built a video that not only showcased 32 incredible instrumentalists and their conductor, but also told the profound narrative of Still. We’re so honored to have been a part of this significant and beautiful project and are humbled by the opportunity to help preserve Still’s legacy.
